As I know, there are two ways to install font. First, installing it globally using root priviledge (using sudo in example). Second, installing it locally using default user priviledge.

Here are what I did to install my fonts:

Global Installing

1. Copy your fonts directory to /usr/share/fonts/truetype, for example we have fonts directory /media/C/Windows/fonts and will copy it to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/windows, using command:
   

   sudo cp -R /media/C/Windows/fonts /usr/share/fonts/truetype/windows

   
   Note: -R above means recursive (deep copy).
2. Change the priviledges of fonts, so it will be usable for any user. For example, we use 755, means root has full priviledge and others have read+executable priviledge.
   

   sudo chmod -R 755 /usr/share/fonts/truetype/windows

3. Install font use command:
   

   sudo fc-cache

4. I don’t know whether reboot is needed or not. I think it is not needed, CMIIW

Local Installing

1. For local installing using user priviledge, I just use the font application that is default installed on Ubuntu.
2. Open Nautilus Explorer (or what explorer you have), go to font directory. Double click the font you wish to install.
3. There is a font explorer window opened. Just click Install Font button on right bottom.
4. The font is installed.

Uninstall/Remove Fonts

Sometimes we need to remove some fonts because it makes something annoying or maybe for get more space in harddisk.

For global installed font, you can use the same method like when installing new fonts. Just remove the directory and do fc-cache.

And for local installed font, I don’t know about using the same application, because it has no Uninstall Font button. But don’t worry, you can found the installed font on directory ~/.fonts.

1. Go to the directory:
   

   cd ~/.fonts

2. Remove the font you wish to uninstall, for example I have Monaco Linux.ttf that I wish to uninstall:
   

   rm Monaco\ Linux.ttf

   
   As you see on the code that for filename we need backslash (\) before space
3. I don’t know about directory ~/.fontconfig. Maybe if you remove all local fonts, you might delete it too

Installing CSS Code on Firefox

1. I use stylish add-on. Install it and you will see the stylish icon on bottom-right of your browser
2. Go to plurk page (can be your own home plurk page or others)
3. Right click the stylish icon and choose write new style, then choose for plurk.com..
4. There will be a window to editing the style, write down a name on it and paste the code above to the textbox field
5. Click save button

If you want make the troll image to be transparent, you can use opacity option (

1. Insert your CD installer
2. Be sure that Synaptic using your CD as a repository.
   Select menu:
   System » Administration » Synaptic Package Manager
   Select window menu:
   Settings » Repositories
   Check on checkbox inside:
   Installable from CD-ROM/DVD
   Then close.
3. Select menu:
   System » Administration » Additional Drivers
   Wait until system finished searching the compatible driver for yours.
4. Select the proper driver, then click:
   Activate
5. The wireless device installation is done.

Maybe not all drivers are supported right now, I don’t know. If your wireless device is not detected by the system after doing steps above, I have no clue about it. Maybe you need to install it yourself or using global repositories that is defined in your system.

Installing Java
To install java, you can download it from here.

Installing Plugin
Assume that java had been installed on /opt/jdk1.6.0_23/ and using i386 architecture (my ubuntu is desktop-i386 version). To install the plugin, use this command:
sudo ln -s /opt/jdk1.6.0_23/jre/lib/libnpjp2.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin.so

What I did

Installing Java

1. Goto the java download link. I chose JDK + Netbeans here. You can choose JDK or JRE (with some changes in installation later). Assume the file downloaded is jdk-6u23-nb-6_9_1-linux-ml.sh
2. Add executable permission to file, then install it:
   chmod u+x jdk-6u23-nb-6_9_1-linux-ml.sh
./jdk-6u23-nb-6_9_1-linux-ml.sh

I use default option (just press Enter or click Next button on installation).

3. My JDK then installed in /opt/jdk1.6.0_23/

Installing Plugin
Installing the plugin just using command written above:
sudo ln -s /opt/jdk1.6.0_23/jre/lib/libnpjp2.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin.so

What I did to install VirtualBox-PUEL are:

1. Uninstalling the old virtualbox using command:
   sudo apt-get remove virtualbox-ose virtualbox-ose-dkms virtualbox-ose-qt
2. Editing the APT source list file
   sudo vim /etc/apt/source.list
   Adding this line to the file:
   deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian maverick contrib
3. Downloading the key from virtualbox
   wget http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc
   Then adding it to APT key:
   sudo apt-key add oracle_vbox.asc
4. Updating the APT list:
   sudo apt-get update
5. Installing the VirtualBox PUEL (my version is 4.0)
   sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.0
6. Creating a group named vboxusers:
   sudo addgroup vboxusers
   Then adding it to user:
   sudo adduser myusername vboxusers
7. Checking the Group ID of vboxusers:
   grep vboxusers /etc/group
   The response will be like this:
   vboxusers:x:1001:myusername
   The Group ID here is 1001
8. Editing /etc/fstab, adding this following line:
   none /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=1001,devmode=664 0 0
   where 1001 in devgid=1001 means the Group ID of vboxusers above
   (I don’t know whether it’s needed or not since I have error message while rebooting, can’t mount /proc/bus/usb)
9. Rebooting (I don’t know whether it’s needed or not)

Dari Abu ‘Amr -ada juga yang menyebutnya- Abu Amrah Sufyan bin Abdullah Ats Tsaqafi radhiyallahu ‘anhu. “Ingatlah bahwa di dalam jasad terdapat sekerat daging. Jika ia baik, maka baiklah seluruh jasadnya. Dan jika ia rusak maka rusaklah seluruh jasadnya. Ketahuilah bahwa segumpal daging itu adalah hati.” (H.R. Bukhari no.52 dan Muslim no.1599, Dikutip dari sebagian hadits no.6 Arba’in An-Nawawiyah).

Terkait dengan pentingnya menjaga hati, maka tidaklah beruntung orang yang menghadap Allah pada hari di mana tidak berguna harta dan kerabat, kecuali orang-orang yang menghadap Allah dengan hati yang bersih. Hal ini sebagaimana doa nabi Ibrahim ‘alayhis salaam termaktub di dalam Al-Qur-an, surat Asy-Syu’ara ayat 83-89:

So, menjaga hati itu penting. Hati-hati dalam menjaga hati. Semoga kita termasuk orang-orang yang menghadap Allah dengan hati yang bersih.
